Hi MaryBeth! I’ve recently gotten addicted to your show, LOL!! Thank you!

If you ever want to do a show on new designers, I’d love to be on it!! I’ve only been a published designer for about a year now and here is my portfolio.

    Hi Mary,
I wanted to know what I can do to get my own crochet book published? I have my own ezine called twitchy fingers and have a good following through my blog, twitter, facebook and yahoo group. Can you give me some pointers.
    Thank you,
    and love your show,
    Salvina

I love the designer Todd Paschall who is on Ravelry. Crochet By The Numbers is the group about his fiber art. Would like to hear about him and his process. It is fabulous!

Just got the prize box form Nancy O. Wow! I did not expect the goodies I got inside. I shared a picture on Ravelry. Thank you so much

  6. Hey Mary Beth,
I was so excited to find out I had won grand prize at CGOA! I would love to call in and chat if you will tell me when a good time is. I missed the live show on Thursday, but listened to it online. Tell Vashti I said thanks for the kind words about my gown!

Craft daily had a review of Linda Permann’s new book CrochetAdorned. I think she’d make an interesting guest.

    Hi There,
I’m reading Hooked for Life and have found it very interesting. My question on page 2 under Materials: it calls for 137 yards DK (CYCA 3, light). I guess I’m stupid, but I don’t know what DK OR CYCA

    Hi Mary Beth.

I would love it if you had Mary Jane Hall on your show. She is the author of the books ‘Positively Crochet’ and ‘Crochet That Fits.’ She has an interesting technique of shaping without increases or decreases.
    Thanks!

  10. I really enjoy listening to your podcast and have learned so much about the crochet business. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work!

Last year you interviewed Michelle Maks, editor of Crochet World, and it was very interesting. This year I’d like to hear from Brett Bara, editor of Crochet Today. This mag. seems to be going in a new direction and I’d like to know what its market is. Hopefully,,,

    Hi Mary Beth,

Love the show – a friend recently told me about the podcast and I’ve been going through the archives. I thought you made a good point on the show about designing (Aug 2008) that there are other ways to make money at crochet – teaching, tech writing, contract, etc. I would like to hear from some people in these roles. You have a lot of designers on the show, but I haven’t heard from people with other crochet jobs. What’s it like to be a tech editor or a pattern tester?

I’d also like to hear from some new designers, especially those not doing it full time. How do they balance their “day job” with crochet work, especially when deadlines can be very short?

Just my $0.02. :) Keep up the great work.

Hi Mary Beth! I am enjoying your podcast. However, I am new and do not know how to enter your contests. I know the buzz word for the April 12 show is timeout, but where do I enter? Thanks!

    Hi Mary Beth,

I’m a librarian and a crocheter and I discovered within the last year a series of fun mysteries by Betty Hechtman that involve a group of women crocheters. The titles of her books are: Hooked on Murder, Dead Men Don’t Crochet, By Hook or by Crook, and Stitch in Crime. They are really fun, light reads and I would be interested in hearing about the author.

Hi Mary Beth, Love your podcast. Although it does cost me a small fortune in books, as whenever you have a guest on the show I end up buying their book!!

Three questions: Can someone from the UK enter the wonderful contests that you have? If so is this the where we email the ‘magic word’.

    YvonneB

  17. admin says:

Thanks Yvonne – you have to email the magic word to the email address I announced in the show – usually contest1 or contest2 at (except use the real symbol) gettingloopy.com. UK entrants are welcome unless I specifically say otherwise when I announce the contest

  18. admin says:

We have had a technical editor on the show before – her name is Susan Lowman if you want to look that up in the show archives. Mostly I have designers because those are my friends and I can strong-arm them into coming on the show :-) If you have a specific suggestion, let me know and I will contact them – in the meantime I will look for a test crocheter who likes to talk!

Newbie (LTPodcastListener, never in live chat…yet) here. When is the Monday night live show (7pm eastern time? 9pm?) and how do I listen live and/or join the chat room fun? So far I’ve always listened to the podcast later in the week…
    Thanks for any help,
    Linda

  20. admin says:

The show tapes on Monday nights at 9:00 PM Eastern – go to Blog Talk Radio a little before 9 and click on the chat button!

  21. Linda says:

Thank you! (Roses to you for such a prompt response regarding how to join the live fun!)
