A day late, a dollar short, and buried in yarn – that’s me! Just me rambling tonight, will post a guest list for future shows when I actually have one

Back from the summer of too much travel and am trying to catch up with prizes and guests. We will have a new CAL for the fall, some new online classes, and a re-designed web site appearing soon!

Greetings from scenic Colorado! I have been hanging out with crochet designers and fiber folks like Carl and Eileen Koop from Bijou Basin Ranch – guys, I pet some YAKS!

In other news – thanks to all who voted in the needlepoint contest I had entered – my good friends at Gone Stitching tallied something like 1,000 votes, and they send their thanks too!

Loving vacation – but of course the weather break now when it’s our last full day! Better late than never though, yes?

I will have all sorts of new things to share when I get back on the air – new patterns, new yarn, new kits!

BTW - have YOU voted at the needlepoint contest? HERE! Seriously guys. I am 200 votes behind first and I really want to win this! Some of you have voted and I appreciate that, but I am just barely clinging to third place right now – and voting ends on 8/1/10. Help a crocheter out, will ya?

And PS - HELP! my friends at Gone Stitching Needlepoint in Bergenfield NJ held a contest for needlepoint design this year. There were eleven entries, and one of them is mine. While there will be an actual competition with actual needlepoint judges later in the summer which I have absolutely no chance of winning (and deservedly so – needlepoint is not my strong suit!), they are having a “people’s choice” poll happening right now. Please go vote! Click on each photo to get a bigger one to look at, and vote for your favorite, which not for nothing might happen to be #10 with the crochet hook and knitting needles stitched onto it!

On the one hand, I don’t love begging for votes. But on the other hand I am hoping that some of you might check it out and be interested in entering next year, so my PR work here is finished.

And an interesting side note? Planet Earth Fibers, a co-sponsor of the contest, is better known to us crochet folks as Tilli Thomas yarns. And they rock! So please vote, even if it isn’t for me!

Coming up on July 5 is Linda Permann, author of the book Crochet Adorned, and a prolific crochet designer. I just met her at TNNA and am quite looking forward to introducing her to you all! Check out her web site here!

Coming up next is Edie Eckman. Edie has been on the show before but is here to tell us all about her much anticipated Around the Corner Crochet Borders book. I just got the review copy in the mail and I think I might like it as much as Edie’s Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs, which I love and recommend to everyone!

The lovely Sarah has been updating the Upcoming Shows tab above so you can see how busy I have been corralling guests!

And if you are the Ocean County NJ neck of the woods this weekend (june 26 – 27, 2010), please join me at Historic Cold Spring Village on Saturday and Sunday for their fiber festival! It has been more quilt oriented than not in the past few incarnations, but I assured them the yarny folks would come if invited, so lets turn out for them if we can. I will giving demos on beaded knitting and tunisian crochet, signing books, and the full Hooked for Life pattern line will be available for sale in the general store, complete with a mini trunk show.
